There are always secrets, ALWAYS. So you have been using the computer as far back as you can remember but that does not mean you are also aware of all the computer tricks in the bag. Therefore, this post is about those secrets that were lay hidden away from you until now. Here goes:
1. Clear your cache in seconds.
Clearing your cache has never been easier with Ctrl + Shift + R. Oh, and this will also refresh your page.
2. Easily repeat your last command in Excel.
Pressing the F4 button in Excel will repeat the last command. So if you have set the font size as twelve for value in a cell then if you wish to do the same for another value, hit F4 and it will set it as 12.
3. Edit what you Chrome browser looks like.
Play a trick on someone by modifying Chrome browser’s appearance/features. Send them a screenshot and tell them you ruined Chrome for everyone from this day forward. How to achieve this? Bring up the console by pressing F12 and do the below thing:
document.designMode = “on”
Once, you did it, the Chrome browser is screwed (excuse my French).
4. Freak people out by rotating their screen.
Press Ctrl + Alt with any of the arrow keys and it will rotate the screen in that direction. Not applicable to all computers but a fun way to freak other out, no?
5. Get back that tab you accidentally closed.
So if you have accidently closed the tab and now want to access it back, just press Ctrl+Shift+T and voila! Magic! The tab’s back.
6. Lock your computer in seconds.
This is my favorite. Often people have asked me when I’m getting up from my desk, I very skillfully locks the screen. People watch me in awe and inquire from me as to what’s the trick there. I tell them to hold ‘Window’ key and press ‘L’. You’re welcome!
7. Make a copy of a file by just dragging it.
Press Ctrl and click to select and then drag the file. Drop and you will have your file copied to the desired location.
8. Move your window to any side of the screen, or to the next monitor.
Clicking ‘Windows’ key on your keyboard followed by any of the directional keys, the current window will move to either side of your screen. Seek to buy essay help UK online. If there is more than one monitor attached, clicking ‘Windows’ key + Shift + (directional key where another monitor is) will move the window towards that front.
9. Only screenshot the part of the screen you want.
If you want the screenshot of a section of your desktop screen, you can simply go to Snipping Tool and select the area and snip. Save the screenshot as an image file and your job is done.
10. Open a link in a new browser tab with one click.
Quickly open a link in new tab by pressing the middle button on the mouse. If you wish to close any unwanted tab, then press the middle button on the mouse again, this time on the open tab and it will close it.
11. Pause YouTube with one click, or skip backward and forward 10 seconds.
Another trick for stopping playback while viewing YouTube video is by pressing ‘K’ key. This will either play or pause the video without scrolling down towards the bottom of the page as you would experience when you hit the space-bar.
During playback, if you press ‘J’ the video will jump back 10 seconds. If you press ‘L’, the video will jump forward 10 seconds.
12. Reset your browser so it’s not zoomed in.
Three shortcuts to control zoom in your web browser like a pro:
